Welcome to the SPGC
In the mid 1980s, a group of pygmy goat owners formed the Georgia Pygmy Goat Association. Later, in 1998 the name was changed to the Southern Pygmy Goat Club to reflect a majority of the various states represented by its growing membership. In general, our club consists of members from several southeastern states who are also members of the National Pygmy Goat Association (even though being a member of the NPGA is not required to be a member of the SPGC).
Our purpose is to promote pygmy goats with emphasis on health and proper care. We function as a network and support system as well.
Why join a club of this type? Even though activities keep a club interesting and fun, the most important reasons to join are for friendship and assistance. If you have questions about your goats, you have the peace of mind that there are other people who care and are willing to help. Even if you only have a small amount of goat knowledge, by being a club member you can multiply that knowledge by the size of the club membership. That is why our club is important and valuable.
We hope that you will consider becoming a member of the Southern Pygmy Goat Club but, in the meantime, please enjoy taking a look around our website.
